Site Decay

Is your secure connection actually working?

A padlock on your own browser doesn’t mean every visitor gets one. This inspects all four ways people reach your site, and the certificate behind each, the way a browser does.

Free. Takes a few seconds. Nothing is installed or changed on the site.

What it checks

  • All four addresses. http:// and https://, with and without www, and every redirect between them.
  • The certificate. Who it’s issued to, which addresses it covers, who issued it, and when it expires.
  • The chain of trust. Whether the server sends the in-between certificate that Firefox and phones need.
  • Encryption versions. Which TLS versions the server accepts, including retired ones that fail card-payment scans.
  • Redirects to https. Whether old http:// links send visitors to the secure page.
  • Policies. HSTS and CAA records, explained.

It reads the certificate during the connection itself, before any web page loads, so it works even on sites behind firewalls that turn automated checks away.
